How to make cayenne powder

When you grow cayenne peppers, you have to make your own cayenne powder! Here's how we like to replenish our spice rack with delicious, smoky, spicy pepper powder. We use a simple food dehydrator and a spice grinder to achieve a perfect, fine powder. You could also use your oven to make your own cayenne, but the temperature should be low (around 125°F). #spicyfood #spices #gardeningtips

Fancy dehydrator! 😄I have a $20 "fruit and mushroom dryer" (one of those round ones that spin). Actually dehydrated about a pound of "slightly" hotter peppers just the other day. Think I might have to wear a mask when I use the spice grinder 😷Feels like making chili powder almost gives as much joy as making a homemade sauce 👌

Dehydrating many peppers at once today to make my hell shake powder. Dehydrating outside, obviously...😂

No gloves! Brave man. Don't want powder, I want flakes. Mortar and pestle does it best.

When he looked at the near empty jar, i felt that pain. I didnt grow peppers this year.
I grew tai, and reapers which is sun dried and smoked them, ground with garlic and salt to make Grumpy dust. Maybe 3-5lbs per year. I have lots of friends and family who go through it.
Anyway, my bottle looks like that.
I will certainly grow peppers again next year.
