I'm not sure if you will see this, but i'm recently new to my faith and have really dove into scripture to understand my faith in a deeper level. I came across Matthew 1 and instantly started to connect the dots, but got stuck on Matthew only having 13 generations between the fall of babylon and the birth of Christ. I spoke with several of my leaders regarding this and they mentioned that even Jesus' mother Mary was from the same bloodline too, so if you count Mary, she would be the 14th. However, if you continued to do the geneology the same way that you did in the video, moving Jeconiah to after the fall of babylon since he is the father of Shealtiel, and also counted 6. Joram, 7. Amaziah, 8. Uzziah, the numbers would also be 14-14-14. I learned recently that "father of" doesn't necessarily mean "father" it just means "decended from" (grandparent).

I haven't watched the video yet, but I see over in my recommended videos that you also did a genealogy of Mary, I'll check that out when I get to Luke. Regardless of if the bloodlines equal 14-14-14, it doesn't change the fact that Christ is still who the bible says he is.

It has been recently discovered that Matthew 1:16 has a scribal error and should read "Joseph FATHER of Mary" instead. Hence this is Mary's lineage. Luke is Joseph's lineage. As for Jeconiah's curse, there is TWO Jeconiah's. The one son of Josiah is Marys line, the other, grands son of Josiah is cursed. Jesus is not a descendant of this line.

The last set of 14 is not missing a generation as you claim; there is a translation error where it says husbands of Mary it’s supposed to say father of Mary. Other translations say father of Mary.

Are they’re errors...yep! But Matthew did make this error, a scribe did. They are two different genealogies. It’s obvious!!!! Joseph is Mary’s father.

So, according to Michael Rood research on the geanology, and according to Hebrew Gospel of Mathew (call Mathew Gospel of Shem Tov) we have some answers.

Joseph and Mary were descendants of the house of David, cause they live in Nazareth, a little village founded by descendants of the house of David during the period of wars against greeks in territory of Jerusalem and Belen (Times of the Maccabees). The name of the village was Nazareth cause they see that action as a "Netzer" (a hebrew word which means a Offshot, according to all prophecies in the Bible for the Mesiah, like the prophecy of Isaaih 11:1) a little branch or offshot grows far away from the tree trunk(tree trunk of Jesse and David). This is why Lord Yeshua is called Nazarene in the Mathew Gospel, as a netzer.

Joseph and Mary were descendants of house of David. Mathew and Luke have 2 diferents genealogy for the earthly parents of our Lord. One is a descendant of King David from his son Solomon, the other is a descendant from his son Nathan. According to the Greek Luke Original Gospel, that genealogy is for Joseph Ben Eli, actually Joseph "stepfather" and husband.

According to Papias of Hierapolis, disciple of John, Polycarp and other historians of the first centuries of the common era, Mathew wrote the Gospel in hebrew, cause they specially focus on jewish people (the first church have a lot of jewish people from Jerusalem and sorroundings) cause Lord Yeshua fulfilled many Tanakh prophecies and it is one of the Gospels that most stands out. Later, the people put a lot of effort to translate the Gospel of Mathew to other languages, like aramaic, greek and others. This is proof why Mathew Gospel have some words taked directly from TaNaK and have somes transliterations, like netzer, or others words. Okay the next is Mary.

Mary, according to Hebrew Gospel of Mathew, the genealogy of Joseph ben Jacob is diferente from Joseph ben Eli from Luke, cause THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON, CAUSE THE JOSEPH OF MATHEW WAS THE FATHER OF MARY NOT THE HUSBAND, if you read the original manuscripts of the hebrew Gospel of Mathew says Joseph ben Jacob was the father of Mary in hebrew. Joseph was a common name in that period. That's why Mathew told us the 14 generations of 3, in case of bad translations, future manipulations or something like that. Mary was the 13th generation, Lord Yeshua was the 14th generation. Lord Yeshua is from the line of David by Mary, God is His Father.

In the case of some missings people and generations in the genealogy, the Bible for example in the book of Esther talk about the genealogy of Mordechai, and doesn't count the generation of king Saul, is directly rooted to Kish, in contrast with the genealogy found on the book of Chronicles of king Saul. Another same case was the book of Zechariah, he was a decendant of a certain prophet, but in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah, we have a direct connection with that prophet with Zechariah without a generation, His father if I remember well. It's not the first time this occurs.

Another amazing and awesome thing of the geanology, if you put the names and put the hebrew meanings of the names on the side, you can read a story with the meanings generation to generation, from the top to the bottom (I recomend put the first the name of Abram, later Abraham, later Isaac, later Jacob, later Israel, until to our Lord Yeshua)
