Fun fact: The chorus of this song was played, on loop, as the theme music for the loading station on Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. You could hear it off in the distance while walking towards the back of the park.

Drop Dead Gorgeous. Their best, easily.

Saffron was cool as hell. Try Shirley Manson from Garbage too, I'm Only Happy When It Rains.

The britishness is strong with this one. The 90s saw a lot of British acts blend rock with the various genres of dance music that had emerged in the 80s and early 90s. This lovely little one hit wonder was one of them.

To me the 90s is defined by how recording technology reached a level that the music is no longer marked by its time in terms of sound. For example: Nirvana’s monster album Nevermind wouldn’t have sounded much different had it been recorded today. And that’s true of most music from the 90s. As opposed to the preceding decades, where the sound is immediately recognisable as coming from that decade.

I honestly didn't think anyone but me remembered this song. It's effing awesome!

Whoa, this was a surprise. This was part of that cool Electronica sound in the 90s where people meshed different genres with electronic dance music. Something I think you'd both like for different reasons is the group Portishead. They feature a very distinct female vocalist and fall under the 90's Electronica umbrella but more towards Trip-Hop. What's trip-hop? It's a cool blend of hip hop beats with electronic pop, sometimes elements of jazz and is real atmospheric and moody stuff, but so cool. I'd recommend Portishead's "Roads", "Glory Box", "Strangers", Only You or Numb.

This is one of those songs that is in a million movies from the 90's. Peak 90's vibes.

One of my favorites from the 90's. Just a great beat. Still to this day remains on my workout playlist.

I liked them. They were a '90s band. Techno punk rock, new wave. Alternative music. This song was big and played a lot at sporting events and night clubs. Their other hit video was "Drop Dead Gorgeous Girl". Bands like them were Elastica, Garbage The Breeders, and others.

This whole record is a pop/rock masterpiece. EVERY song on the record is a banger. I've been listening to this record every since it was released. I remember even Elton John giving it a rave review. I would recommend to anybody reading this to check out the rest of the record. Ear candy.

This was an English alternate/rock band
who released "Ready to Go" as a single in 1996. It wasn't included in their debut album Republica. It reached #43 on the UK charts. It was remixed and re-released in 1997 and made it to #13.
The video with a punk fuelled dance
made for great entertainment. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦

Oh man I love this song! Cool 90s!! The lead singer is Nigerian-Brian actress/singer Saffron, and I always loved her vibe. Sadly, Republica didn't have many hits... this was their biggest, but please check out "Drop Dead Gorgoeus" if you do another one. For more along this line, I recommend "Connection" by Elastica, "Stupid Girl" by Garbage, "Fait Accompli" by Curve, "Feed the Tree" by Belly, and "Sweetness and Light" by Lush. (All female groups). Put it in perspective, of the nearly 1800 songs you guys have reacted to, just over 200 have been from the 90s. You have hundreds more bangers to go!

Some essential 90s Female Friday picks that you'd probably love, Jay - Elastica "Connection", Veruca Salt "Seether" are both some great rock/pop choices. And you're totally sleeping on two INCREDIBLE Kims that I think Amber might dig - Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth doing "Kool Thing" and Kim Deal from the Breeders (and the Pixies) doing "Cannonball." Come on y'all! Give the people what they want! ;-)

Love this. You guys nailed it when you said the 90's had the most eclectic mix of music. Really is what keeps me coming back to it personally. In that same vein I'd argue the 90's probably had a higher percentage of one-hit-wonders then just about any other decade as well. It just felt like there was a new artist with a totally new sound showing up every week. Love it or hate it, the 90s was exploding with creativity.

This song came out when I was 21. It was my favorite song that year, and I wore out my cassette tape...😂

Part of the loosely termed Brit Pop explosion of the 90s. The big hitters were bands like Blur and Oasis (and my favourites, Supergrass). But there were many more, including Republica

Another great 90s song you guys would enjoy for female Friday's is Six Underground by The Sneaker Pimps
