Good Beginner Armies:
Stormcast
Khorne (New book is out! They look like a pretty straightforward melee army with cool Blood Tithe tricks, should be a solid one for beginners!)
Maggotkin
Slaves to Darkness
Ogor Mawtribes
Ironjawz

Normal Beginner Armies:
Daughters of Khaine
Fyreslayers
Deepkin
Kharadron Overlords
Sylvaneth
Beasts of Chaos
Skaven
Slaanesh (New book is out! Lots of tricks and tech, but they look solid.)
Flesh-Eaters
Bonereapers (They got an update where they get to play the same game!)
Nighthaunt
Soulblight
Gloomspite Gitz
Kruleboyz
Savage Orruks

Bad Beginner Armies:
Lumineth (Complex)
Seraphon (New book/models on the way!)
Tzeentch (Complex)
Cities of Sigmar (New book/models on the way! Some models may even get removed.)

Dawi enthusiasts after watching this: "That's going in the book!"

I thought this video was really cool. What might be a good little series would be like a "Where to Start" with each faction, like a brief overview of their ideal play style and some examples of what would be some good purchases to make to start a 1K army with that faction (also a good place to have some product links to the store site in the description/pinned comments). Another one that would be good would be a similar style video with suggested paint/ hobby supplies. I see lots of posts online about people interested in the hobby with absolutely no idea where to start, so that could be a good niche to explore, at least at first.

As someone who is brand new to Warhammer, Warcry and TTG’s in general, I’m very happy to hear the two armies I purchased (Maggotkin of Nurgle and Slaves to Darkness) are great for beginners. The more I read, the more synergies I find out about the two. Very excited to start painting and playing next week!

Thanks for this video!

That first point is absolutely the most important. It's why I eneded up going with Deepkin as my first army, because I just love my big turtle. Do I win a whole lot of games? Not really, I'm honestly not the best player when it comes to remembering about objectives. But it doesn't really matter as long as my big turtle gets to be on the table and chomp down on a few enemies as a treat.

If you like randomness and painting lots of rats, Skaven are great. Of course these days you can paint a LOT less than back in WHFB and have a great army w/Stormfiends and such.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a FLGS video but man I'm impressed!

The quality is really good and you can tell there is AoS expertise, I wouldn't recommend anything different.

I'm glad I'm ordering through your shop already (I discovered you thanks to Season of War)

As someone just getting into Warhammer and decided Lumineth looks the best to me - thanks for saying at the end that "go with whatever you think looks cool".
Will start to build and paint some models and get around the rules at some point :D

Love OBR but 100% agree, don't recommend new players pick them up until the new book because it's just a way different experience from AoS 3 and misses out on all the new fun stuff.

Great video - as a newer player who is only 1 box away from 2k points of Orruks, it's good to see I made good choices lol. Rock on!

I’ve been thinking about getting into AOS and this video helped more than all the more, “meme themed” vids out there combined lol. Thanks!

Super awesome advice. This should help a ton of people getting into their first sigmar army.

Great video with some nice models! Do you plan to do any videos on list building? Both what's required and also what are some good things to always have in general.

I knew when I saw my first night goblin model in the 90's that if I ever started collecting they would be my main army. I've probably got about over 3k points in my collection now and still love them. I just need to get them on the table to play though.

ah ok I see what you were going for here. I thought before the video this was going be a general beginner army vid as to what would be considered beginner friendly as far as building, painting, collecting, and playing. So this is more specifically in regards to playing. Very informative nonetheless

My advice is go with whatever looks cool for you and you enjoy the playstyle/
If you like Lumineth go with them but keep in mind that they have a bit more rules than other armies ... so that learning curve may be a bit steeper.

This was very helpful. I am considering trying AoS after a long absence.

We just recently were gifted with a half of stormcast eternals and I was worried they may be too advanced for a total beginner whos never played before (and admittedly a bad strategist which is why Im trying to play and learn) I was worried Id be in over my head. Im super happy to hear its a recvommended class that sounds right up my alley! My boyfriend was interested in the maggotkin so Im glad they made the suggested starter list too! Thank you!

Where would you put Skaven?
I love the little A-holes but they still have metal model and horde fatigue can set in pretty hard when you're painting 60+ Clanrats.

Great video. Just started looking for a hobby to start and my friend recommended Warhammer AoS. I'm really looking on where to start and this video was a big help!
