Duramax Allison Transmission Filters & Fluid Replacement How-To

This video will show you how to replace the internal and external transmission filter along with the fluid on the Allison 1000 transmission found in the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD trucks. From 2001-2005 this was a 5 speed transmission and then was upgraded to the 6 speed in 2006. Filters and fluid was purchased from Amazon and I will provide links to the parts below.

Only person I’ve seen pre fill the spin on oil filter. Good on you!!! Seriously like every main stream Alison 1000 transmission change video does not do that. No clue why. Makes sense just like you would on an engine oil filter.

A person wants to be careful removing the orange seal and not scratch the inside of the bore..if it gets scratched it won't seal/will suck air
