It's always a good idea to use a sharpie to mark the date & mileage at the time of fluid change on the bottom of the trans filter after each oil change. Plus it's always a good idea to keep a written record of your servicing in case you sell your vehicle. It shows that you care about and take care of your equipment, which at the time of sell, you might make more $$$.

The spin filter on is for the solenoids only. Their is a pan filter inside that only needs to be changed if you happen to drop the pan. Other wise it's fine.

Where did you get information requiring to change this filter every 10-15k miles? The Allison website recommends changing it every 50k. I suppose that every 15k is better, but is it really necessary? Just wondering if you got the 15k from published information or if that was just your opinion?
