Learn how to simplify rational expressions. A rational expression is an expression in the form of a fraction where the numerator and/or the denominator are/is an algebraic expression. To simplify a rational expression, we factor completely the numerator and the denominator of the rational expression and cancel out terms common to both the numerator and the denominator of the rational expression.

Currently taking algebra class for one of my degrees and I do find a good amount of your videos helpful. Math has always been one of my hardest subjects if not the hardest so I'm very thankful for all the decent to great math tutors on youtube including yourself for the in depth explanations on how to work out the problems because I am very slow when it comes to picking up certain rules for all the different types of math and it can just be very confusing and stressful. I'd also like to add that people should be more patient and watch things through before commenting on someones mistake because as we saw in the video even though it took a bit he saw the error and he fixed it.

How is that possible coz on the numerators side 6x4=24 right? Then -4+6=2 but if u say 12x-2=24 n 12+-2=10?so how can u use 12n -2 as factors if they don't even give u an answer of positive 2?

My point is by the numerators side it's supposed to be 4x6 which gives u 24 n by b it's supposed to be -4+6=POSITIVE 2....
