I have to tell you a story. As kids, we got out of school at 3pm, ran up a slow incline to our street to be in line at Mrs Ortiz side door. She would hand out 2 buttered warm rolled up tortillas in tin foil to each child every day of school; usually 13 or more of us. Color did not matter. She was in her 60's I think. A precious memory. I am now 68.

My momma made tortillas for us (7) kids until she got really bad arthritis. So I would go once a week to make them for her until she passed. That was our time.

This is absolutely the best recipe for flour tortillas I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a LOT of them. Your tips are so helpful! As someone who grew up in Tucson and settled elsewhere, I have been searching for how to make Sonoran tortillas and trying different recipes for about 20 years. Finally, the real deal! 🙌 Thank you!!!!

Thank you guys for posting your family’s recipes, I lost my Abuela back in high school and She taught me everything I know about authentic Mexican food. However sometimes I wish she was still here so I could call her and ask her questions. I’m so glad you guys have these videos to help answer some of the questions I have. As I’ve gotten older I have been cooking more (I’m 26) and I’m glad I can turn to you guys to help me out with tips. Thank you both so much 💓

I like that your sister was asking questions. She asked questions that I was asking so when you asked “quit playing girl are serious??” About how much pressure you’re applying for the roller, I was like
YES this is not common knowledge 😂 I’m thankful your sister was apart of the video, she really helped break it down. 🥰

I really appreciate these types of videos that explain a lot of the traditional Hispanic recipes, because growing up, my family never showed me - they kind of just expected me to know it. But it feels like I’m with my Tia who’s teaching me all the things I never learned as a kid!

You two ladies have such beautiful souls. It shows in the sweetness and care you show for your followers. Your channel has saved me! We moved from California to Kentucky and while I LOVE Kentucky so much for a variety of reasons, there just isn't any good Mexican food here that I have found. going to just have to make it myself. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing recipes for AUTHENTIC Mexican food, and for sharing your heritage with those of us who appreciate it! God bless.

My fondest memory of my grandpa is making tortillas with him every Saturday morning. He would sing in Spanish to me and throw the tortillas up in the air like a pizzeria. It was magical watching the tortillas cook and to this day everytime I have a nice warm tortilla I think of mi abuelo. Thank you for the amazing video

It was that way at my Aunt Gracie's house. When I wanted to learn to cook, I had to get up at 4:00 am and watch her cook.
I love reading everyone else's comments. They are so encouraging and heartwarming.
Thank you for sharing. I'm excited to try making these.
