Climate Activists Block Private Jet Take-Offs at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
A large group of climate activists from Greenpeace and Extinction Rebellion have just climbed over a fence at Schiphol-East and are now occupying the platform where private jets are parked, among other things. The police and Marechaussee are present en masse.

According to the organizer of the climate action, Dewi Zloch, many protesters are present. "We are with different groups of people and there are also many. We are with about five hundred protesters."

The reason the protesters chose the platform is because of the private jets. "We have chosen this because we are concerned about the increase in the use of private jets. We believe that intensive use should stop."

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee is working to get the activists away from the private jet platform. "We try to keep the other people out of the fence. A number of holes have been cut in the fence and people are unauthorized on the site," says someone from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.

In addition, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee is also engaged in making arrests. "At least six arrests have been made at the moment. A number of protesters have chained themselves to the planes."
