First track on the first Floyd album. And it's still one of the best songs ever. RIP Mr. Barrett....

Lime and limpid green, a second scene
A fight between the blue you once knew.
Floating down, the sound resounds
Around the icy waters underground.
Jupiter and Saturn, Oberon, Miranda and Titania.
Neptune, Titan, Stars can frighten.
Lime and limpid green, a second scene
A fight between the blue you once knew.
Floating down, the sound resounds
Around the icy waters underground.
Jupiter and Saturn, Oberon, Miranda and Titania.
Neptune, Titan, Stars can frighten.
Blinding signs flap,
Flicker, flicker, flicker blam. Pow, pow.
Stairway scare, Dan Dare, who's there?
Lime and limpid green, the sounds around
The icy waters under
Lime and limpid green, the sounds around
The icy waters underground

Great to hear the modern mix and compare it to how the original was recorded. Song writing geniousness at work! Inspired my own music more than any other artist. Great harmonies between David and Rick. Profoundly moving stuff.

This wonderful rolling and tumbling LOUD song is such a great memorial to, and remembrance of Syd and his musical universe. Then of course, there are those first signature notes of "Shine On": a a cue for some heartfelt tears...RIP Syd, you are such a fondly remembered component of this twentieth century band.
