Nice work, friend.
I was a little anxious about this diy, because it's plumbing, and I don't want my family to get angry with me because we don't have water for a day or two until a plumber can get here.
But it was pretty straight-forward. Mine is push / pull, picked up the 1225 Moen cartridge from Lowes, which comes with the little white cap tool for rotating the old cartridge to make it easier to pull out. Another video claimed the piece is worthless, but it worked fine to loosen it, and the old cartridge pulled right out. Honestly, the hardest part was getting the face plate back in place (because of what some knuckle head did before) and caulked.
One-finger operation now— no more worry that the pipe in the wall will give when I pull it out.
Thank you.

This is great !! Wish I saw this before I tackled it myself.:) My hot/cold seem to be reversed now and I can't get my new locking pin in smh

I'm just doing this and got hung up on getting the clip to fit back in at 2:10. The question is "how far do I push the new cartridge in? I had to take some measurements. From front end of the brass valve housing that the cartridge slides into, it is .250" (1/4") back to the clip slot. It is only about .125" (1/8") from where you want the clip to the front of the plastic ears. That means you have to push the ears in past the brass about "125" (1/8") to have it seated to the right depth. And it must be seated absolutely vertically for the clip to slide down over the plastic ears.

Thank you for the video! One time I changed the same cartridge in my bath tap, and it was successful.
But I couldn't take out the old cartridge in my hubby's bath tap today. I took off the pin, but the cartridge was stuck halfway when I tried to pull it out. I was able to push the cartridge back, but not pull out. I checked for more locking pins and found no one.
Fortunately, after all of these operations, when I assembled a faucet back, the tap with the old cartridge stopped leaking :-))
Do you have an idea, what was wrong? I'm afraid to apply too much strength in the plumbing works to avoid more damage. I was pulling the cartridge out pretty firmly

I was a very informative video, thank you. Next time I would encourage you to clean off all the mold from underneath though because some of us are a little bit meticulous, and I couldn't get the residual mold under that faceplate out of my head!😅

Tip #5 make sure the old cartridge didn’t break. If the cartridge won’t go back in, look in the hole it goes in. Mine had a bunch of bits still inside. What a bear but it’s all done.

Pro Tip #1 should have been to close the drain or put a towel down over it so that the screws or that pin don't fall down the drain. You're welcome.

You didn't mention the "notch" on the stem and which way it should be oriented, or testing the valve in the proper orientation to ensure cold water and hot water is working properly. Has something to do with the stem notch.

Yeah right No way cartridge comes out that easily

"making sure the holes in the cartridge line up with the holes in the valve" your sticking a valve into a straight pipe. what frickin holes are we lining up pray tell?

Why make a useless video that actually doesn’t work when the cartridge won’t come out but in fact breaks inside. This is not straight forward what so ever
