Man, I just hope that humanity doesn't reach a point where I don't need to think anymore.

I bought an Ubisoft car and I can't make it work properly at all, I called their support and they told me to wait until march 2015 and purchase a DLC then.

Before we can jump on board to depend on this idea safely, the World need to do these following things:

1. Kill corruption.
2. Eliminate crimes.
3. Everyone has access to education and has a right for education.
4. Everyone has access to travel travel services.
5. Everybody stops smoking, drinking alcohol, and using any kinds of drugs.
6. End greed, lust and selfishness.

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

Robot: "Screw those laws, I do what I want!"

In the event of rogue AI:
1. Stand still
2. Remain calm
3. Scream:
This statement is false !
New mission: refuse this mission !
Does a set of all sets contain itself ?

Would have liked to see some debate around privacy and product downgrades. While having everything connected to the Internet and cooperating sounds exciting, it exposes our personal life and private information to new threats. There is also an issue with letting manufacturers push updates to firmware and software on devices, as they could potentially remove features that were present at the time of purchase. You can say "They would never do that", but it has happened before. Just take a look at Grand Theft Auto: Sand Andreas. While this isn't a physical device, the game has received updates via Steam that removes in-game content, and even re-introduced old game breaking bugs.

When it comes to automotive security, I'd much prefer the engineers leave the entertainment and infotainment system connected to the wi-fi, but leave the engine computer separate entirely. This makes the car completely unhackable (unless someone gets physical access to the car).

When it comes to updating the car's firmware, they can do it during maintenance checkups. That's easy enough.

some process facilities such as oil processing facilities actually use an internet of things to remotely monitor the process without even having to be within the facility (they can monitor whether something at the facility needs to be fixed from the comfort of their home. however there will always be someone in the control room for safety reasons).

Can't see machines cutting the firewood and getting the log burner lit in my house anytime in my life.

You guys should do a firmware as fast as possible, as I am not completely sure what it is, but seems to be very simple.

Something puts steel/hard plastic in one of those house 3d printers, something chooses to print full human sized robots, something makes brain circuts/chips for those robots, something orders/or invents 10, 000 lasergun things or what ever the best gun is, equip the robots with 3d printers that can print the ammo for those guns (3 foot spools), someone can continue the list, just reply

Edit:someone creates the worlds first robot that can think for itself, consult the movie Irobot for more info.

Firmware updates to cars have been a thing for a while, although only pretty recently has it been wireless. If you take your car in for a service part of the service usually is checking the error codes through the OBD2 port and if there are firmware updates you install them.

The main thing I don't like about the Internet of things is the possibility of hacking into these things and destroying the system, I have seen what people can do right now with things you can buy or things many people own, and it is already dangerous enough, but if you add in even more things that could kill/maim people with and things that are connected, it wouldn't be pretty. Note: this is my paranoid side talking and my knowledge of this stuff is limited to a few videos and some research online, and remember that if cyber security gets better and better (which it should) this won't be a huge deal to me, but with security now and these concepts it kind of scares me a bit.

What I don't like about widespread use of IoT is the massive security risk from (semi) obsolete devices that will rarely - if ever - get software patches. It could get seriously scary, especially over the long term.

Can't wait for vibrators to become a common part of the IoT. The goon metrics will go hard

“Low skilled jobs like nurses…” oh please. it shows the people coming up with these concepts have absolutely no clue about what a nurse is, what they do and how important they are! They’re one of the main jobs that aren’t going to be replaced by AI because of the human side of it, nurses have the emotional connection to their patients and that’s just something you don’t get from a robot
