Bale and Carrell really nailed their characters. Dr Mike Burry and Steve Eisman are so similar to the way they were portrayed. It also helped that Bale and Carrell were both perfectionists - just as Burry and Eisman are.

This film is truly excellent thanks to the entire cast and crew.

This was a huge moment again for Mr Bale. I really hope he's on a roll. Give this man a great script and an excellent character and he'll make it amazing.

My favorite Bale performance. I think The Big Short rewards repeated viewing, largely because of his performance. I especially appreciate that he gets it that Asperger-types can feel and intensely care. The nature of how they behave socially can make it appear that they don't.

Christian Bale learned a double-kick drum IN TWO WEEKS listening to Pantera for this film. I love, love Bale. He thinks being an actor is a “tosser” job. “Ridiculous! You sit in a chair, people put make-up on you, do your hair, hand you clothes to wear! Stupid job we do NOTHING! Construction workers do more every day than we do as actors. “We’re TOSSERS! IT’S EMBARRASSING!”
Ha! An actor that GETS IT! Like David Tennant!

I watched Bale in his first two roles. Lead in Spielberg’s “Empire of the Sun” and was picked by Kenneth Branagh to play the young boy in Henry V. Spielberg and Branagh saw TALENT.
He wasn’t Timberlake and Gosling as Mouseketeers! He can ACT!
