Ashley Johnson played Ellie’s mom, Anna. She is the voice of Ellie in Last of us 1 and 2, so it was only right she is the one who gives birth to her in the show.

It's pretty poetic that Ashley Johnson brought Ellie to life in the game (voice and performance capture) and now she brought her to life physically in the show as her mom. Just wow

The guy who killed Ellie's horse is Troy Baker. He voiced Joel in the video game <3 and the woman who gave birth to Ellie is named Ashley Johnson and she voiced Ellie in the game <3

We're told time and again about "the man joel was" in the early year of the outbreak. We see that man in the hospital shootout. Pedro is so good, his eyes go dead like a shark as he stalks around the corridors..

You called it an “unhealthy attachment” I’d say it was a really wonderful that you were able to connect to these characters so much so that you literally poured your heart out

Two of my coworkers tried to binge it in one day.
It's TOO emotional for them. I don't blame them.
I would have tapped out watching these all at once.

I loved watching folks cheer on Joel to save Ellie from David, because they set us all up to think that’s what’s going to happen but in the end it’s Ellie who saves herself. Yet we still get hit in the feels when Joel finds her. That’s just one small yet large example of why people loved the game.

If you haven’t cried enough already, Ashley Johnson, who plays Ellie’s mother here, played Ellie in the video game. She gave birth to the character of Ellie and helped shape her personality in key ways and here we see her giving birth to Ellie in the show. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. These writers really like pushing our buttons, huh? So beautiful though.

I wouldn't mind watching you re-watching these with your sister as a reaction.
I know she is sensitive to things like this but after you tell her how powerful this story is I don't see how she could resist.

I love Joel's dad-energy in the last episode. You can just tell that he's happy to have her around, where as before he would look at her and only be reminded of the pain of losing Sarah.

"He literally couldn't bear losing another daughter" that's a fantastic way to see the end of this part of the story. The game and the adaptation never try to tell you to think that what he did was right/wrong.

I just want to say that seeing somebody who moved to Provo & doesn't cuss rooting for Ellie and Riley, as well as Bill and Frank, has been really comforting to watch to me & friends of mine during some very scary times involving how other people view who we are.

As someone who's been... forced upon... the scene of Ellie going crazy on the preacher hit me so hard. And the "its okay, baby girl" breaks me every time
