Hector - At our manufacturing company we do just in time ordering. Often we buy inventory parts with a credit card. Then we receive the parts several days or weeks later. Then we do our assembly build. What would be the workflow for this scenario?

I think I like the EIR option makes sense for us because our production manager is adamant about not upcounting or downcounting inventory until it is physically received or removed from bins for the build assembly kits.

However if we pay for the inventory parts in advance with a credit card, how does this change the workflow outlined for EIR as you mention above?

When receiving, will QB tells the person receiving which bin to put the items in? For example, if you reorder an item you will want to receive it into the same warehouse / bin location where the SKU is currently being kept.

Hi Hector! Any thoughts regarding the purchase order worksheet? I am setting up a new client QBE file with advanced inventory and am trying to decide on whether to use EIR or not. I'm unhappy that you can't use both on new files with no data! I fee the PO worksheet will be good for inventory staff. Although a report can work in lieu of the worksheet, I do like the worksheet better. Easier for non accounting people to use.

we are a contract manufacturer and receive customer supplied components and assemble them. do we receive them into QB normally and just assign a zero cost?

My Inventory Offset Account is carrying a large balance from before I started maintaining and reconciling in 2023. How can I Get it to clear the total from previous years and show me up tp date info?
