The greatest privilege you can have in life is having good parents who raise you to be a good person. Money doesn’t mean you made it in life.

Money is the biggest advantage or privilege in this country and it’s not even close.

As a white dude who grew up in a black neighborhood I can say this privelage never looked twice at me but racism did. Sometimes being white has its advantages and sometimes it makes life harder. Depends on where you live and what you do. Dropping the N bomb decades ago ended Paula Deens career yet Nick Canon and Al Sharpton have been blatantly racist and still have their careers so I would say black privelage also exists. Then there's affirmative action aswell. The biggest privelage is who your parents are like Lebron, Brady, Timbaland, Will Smith, etc etc etc. Money, power and connections is real privelage. Will Smith's kid has already made more than most people will their entire life without being particularly good at anything.

We live in a class system, if you are in the upper class wether you are black or white or any shade between, all that matters is the color green.😂

I'm white and grew up poor. There were times when my family couldnt afford heating oil and we would run the oven in the morning to warm up and the rest of the day was blankets.
My dad went for a job and was told, off the record, he wouldnt get the job because the company had filled their white quota for all available positions. This was 35 years ago and was the same story for most of the poor white people living in my neighborhood.
"Privilege" is for people with money. Survival is for the rest of us.

24 year-old black women over here! Grew up in a very affluent community. Always lived in gated communities, was wearing designer since I was a baby and in a materialistic sense I had a very good life growing up. My opinion is that we are separated by social classes not race. I think the issue is that my people really like to conflate the two. The issue is that poverty is incredibly high amongst the black community so systemically they are going to be at a disadvantage because majority of them are impoverished but that’s not because of racism or Jim Crow laws from well over 60 years ago. That is because of a negative shift in culture and the breakdown of the black family. How the hell are you gonna be worried about generational wealth, making sure your kids homework is done, making sure that your kids have the best possible advantages in life when you’re a single parent who can barely feed your children?

These two people are worth, literally, millions of dollars. They get recognized everywhere they go. They can’t even walk down the street or go to the bathroom in a public place. I can not relate at all to their day to day life and I doubt they can to mine.

I’m white. Portuguese immigrants. My parents came here with nothing. Begged for work, was made fun of because of their broken English. They didn’t whine. I would never denounce my privilege or feel ashamed for it. My parents worked way to hard for it and I’ll do the same for my children.

Only color privilege I acknowledge is green privilege. The more money you have the more privilege you have.
