Hoyofair Artist Got Attacked Over Official Art!

This illustrator from Hoyofair is facing criticism for creating the 2024 Hoyofair official art. The artwork depicts some characters from Natlan acting as doctors trying to save a patient. Shortly after, someone redesigned the artwork to make the characters look more lively and authentic. Additionally, some viewers are unhappy with the outfits of Doctors Xilonen and Mualani.

"the clothes are to revealing" Mualani literally wears a bikini top, they made it closer to real clothes while keeping the vibes of the character, Xilonen's lab coat acts like her coat. Both are amazing

Fun art fact: the skin would look like that due to the intensity of light, the pure white environment, and it gives an overall earie look to the drawing

Ppl not noticing how even Xilonen's hair looks a paler blonde compared to her model where it looks more like a vibrant blonde. Because the ENTIRE art has a more sterile color palette to match the vibe of a doctor's suite. But naturally, twitter is too slow for that. I miss the days this shit was confined to tumblr only where we dont have to see it in our faces, but its still easy to laugh at

Seeing stuff like this happen so often makes me so scared to draw POC characters from the game that I like (i.e. Xilonen, Kachina and Xinyan, ) Hell, I'm scared to draw POC characters period. I'm so scared I'm gonna be attacked for it, even though I've long since left twitter and have taken up residence on Butterfly App. Still very scared.
