One of the big deals the blender foundation was talking about with 2.8 was how much faster it would be. At least they fixed the mouse button settings so you can use left select. Muscle memory is my big hang up.

another interesting thing would be to see how another computer with exactly the same setups would calculate it side by side comparisons of the resulting frames not the speed. with measurement markers in all axis to see what the spreads and debris radius etc, chances are the calculations between sources is affected by slight differences in precision and other factors that are not evident on face value, even a simple misplacement of any object even by a fraction could be changing it, but the speed improvement is still evident and positive :O)

Was just thinking about the difference - I don't know anything about the underlying engine, but wondered if any settings in the physics have any random-based values that caused the diff?
