From experience I can tell you the best way to fix a Cruze is to push it into a lake and buy a car that doesn't break down every 6 months.

I have worked on 6 cruze in the last 3 days. 3 coolant leaks, 3 turbos. Got 2 more at the shop now. No I don't work for chevy just a corner shop.

Dude you’re a lifesaver I purchased a 2012 for my wife and since the day we’ve had it has had a slow coolant leak I have all the paperwork from all the service and work done since it was first purchased being I purchased it from my mother in law and she bought it new. Firestone kept ripping her a new one saying it was this and that for the past year and within the first hour of my wife and I owning it I found the leak. Now my problem was I couldn’t quite tell where the line was going but every parts store just look dumb founded when I told them it’s behind the turbo and maybe it’s a coolant line for the turbo. Still couldn’t find the damn line well thanks to your video I will just go to my local GM dealership and purchase the lines I need being I know exactly what the line is for. Thanks again and always love your videos.

I believe "Chevy Cruze" is latin for "Coolant Leak".

Might as well go ahead and replace the turbo, thermostat housing, coolant expansion tank, valve cover, water pump and head gasket since you already started on this pile of shit. God these cars are trash.

Even when these piles come in for an oil change, every one of them is low on coolant. If it's not the turbo coolant lines, it's the water outlet, reservoir, or the bleed line that's leaking. And I always replace the clamps with new OE spring clamps. I've seen too many of these with the plastic fittings broken from over tightening worm gear clamps.

Not a car repair person but love your videos. You seem like one of the few honest repair techs!

That line was worth more than the whole car 😂 Chevy Cruze is probably one of the biggest turds to ever hit the road

Chevy Cruz has had a lot of problems, my sister-in-law has one and she's had it in the shop this year three or four times for coolant problems it's a real piece.

Might as well change the turbo while you had it off too. Just changed one for a cracked housing 2 days ago and it’s like the 4th one ive done for an under boost code.

These cars are a mechanics best friend. 👌. Our shop had billed out lots of hours working on these 😁

I love your videos, it's fascinating to me the things that go wrong and what you have to do to fix it. Thank you!

Every Chevy Cruze should come with a bicycle.. that way u have atleast one garenteed way to reach ur destination. I bought one and I spent more time on jack stands then I did driving it

Just did this on mine 2 weeks ago. 3 hours to replace a coolant line is a bit ridiculous. That banjo fitting was a bitch to get started.

I agree with the "while you're in there...". Whenever someone wants me to work on their car, i always start with "if i have to take it off, it gets replaced"

I had a coolant leak on a 2012 Cruze, it turned out the block developed a hairline crack on the intake side. Covered under GM fortunately...

Few years later another dealer said I needed a new turbo on a low boost code (even let me finance it at 20% interest... How generous!), turns out it was the built in PCV valve built into the valve cover. $60 and 2 hours later and problem solved. You and other creator shorts really has helped me save a ton of money!

If you own this car my best advice to reduce coolant leaks remove the round plate in the thermostat and replace all coolant hoses. You won't have hot air but the car will live to hit 250k miles. Thats the cheapest and most efficient way i have found to keep the car on the road and if you can get rid off it soon as possible.
