V1: 2008-16 Chevy Cruze 1.4L Massive Oil Leaks, This type of job is Horrible! Lets get It

5 years ago, I bought a 2012 with 108k miles on it as a work car. Engine was covered in oil and antifreeze. Spent about 500 bucks to replace quite a few gaskets, seals, hoses and a good steam clean. What I have learned is if I run the heater full blast for the last few miles before I stop anywhere and also let the car idle for a minute with the heater going, it brings the water temps down from 217 to under 190 degrees. Since Ive been doing that, I havent had any more leaks or had to replace anymore gaskets. Currently, the car has 191k miles on it. Mine does suffer from the loss of power syndrome. Every three or four key cycles, the check engine light comes on. I reset it by unhooking the battery for about 15 seconds and the problem goes away for another three or four key cycles.

my cruze did this it turned out to be a check valve in the intake manifold that prevents turbo boost from going into the crankcase so basically when you take off 15lb of boost goes into your crankcase and pushes oil out everywhere replaced the intake and all the leaks stopped

This guy is gonna be doing that valve cover over again because it actually needs an intake manifold. There’s a return valve in there that either breaks or jams and puts turbo boost pressure into the crank case, great design, car a

My car just over heated, something busted and oil was all on the right side of my engine and now my car won’t hold oil and won’t crank 😭

People are using the silicone sealant because the cover gasket doesn't seal well enough and leaks oil into the spark plugs.

so i just found out i have a lot of oil all around the right hand side everywhere it’s even dripping out what could that might be?

Quick fix. Don't get an Americanvehicles.

Get a UV liquid and a light and use it to find the leak. 🫡
