The massive amount of guns really is a problem. It's neat on paper, but they really need a loot filter system. Give a massive inventory so you can go the whole stage, and put a filter in so you can auto loot and sell things that don't meet your requirements.

Inventory management has always been a part of borderlands. It’s also a sub-genre of survival-type games as well lol. Some people, like me* actually like it.

*if if is done well and can have impacts on story/gameplay and not just eat your life away.

borderlands 3 had an entire DLC about alphabet squad and man it was painful to play and the ending cut scene in that DLC I almost threw up it was a disgusting DLC

they also destroyed the personalities of all the male characters in bl3 and made them all useless idiots

the most problem i have with any borderlands game is that there SHOULD be a gun level upgrade system ! like an altar or a vendor that you pay at and gets your gear upgraded

I've beaten the game. The review is spot on. Terrible "humour", characters and story. But the game plays brilliantly most of the time. The inventory and awful UI let it down big time and there is way too much loot, a chore to sift through

That was always my problem with Borderlands, the overwhelming amount of guns they throw at you constantly and having to manage them, and never getting used to any of them.

I think Gunfire Reborn does it better in that regard. Roguelike, limited drops, create a build as you go, make a handful of decisions along the way. All guns are useable as you can level them up throughout the run. Then there are some randomized attributes on the guns to keep it fresh. A lot of guns, but not too many to remember.

I remember being so hyped for borderlands 3 to the point that I bought it day one on Epic. I was so disappointed it was a pile of shyte and I didn't even bother buying any dlc. And I passed on it when it was dirt cheap on steam. Gun play is good but everything else was garbage. Now this game is a definite pass for me. Im done with the franchise.

Thanks Mack for saving me from wasting time on this. The biggest problem with this series is the ridiculous loot volume and I'm just not up for more of that. Currently struggling to generate any interest in finishing BL3 so I think I'll pass on this, at least until it's free on EGS. Really appreciate the zero BS review and calling out nonsense design choices. Respetk!
