I don’t hate it but I hate the disrespect we get. From our families to the world we are constantly mocked, downplayed and disrespected.

I don’t hate being a black woman. I just hate the disrespect that we get.

I grew up in a place where the people you saw everyday were black and you rarely saw people of other races. In my country it's a popular hairstyle/hairdo for women to be in short to bald hair. I have never had a problem until I got to social media. Which is why I have decentred everyone of them except for YouTube and WhatsApp.

As a black woman I feel very confident because I look exactly like my grandmother who looked like her mother, so that alone makes me think why should I perceive myself in a negative light when I literally look like my ancestors....

A black woman will only see herself as inferior when she tries to fit in to a beauty standard that isn't even theirs to begin with. I love my hair so much now than I did back then(I am 22) and I don't even own a wig. My hair makes me beautiful.

Im trying to learn to love myself though 💔

Wigs are uncomfortable. The itching, the artificial smell, and the heat and sweatiness, the exposure to chemicals on them that can create longterm health problems. Not worth
it ladies.

I feel like once you start TRULY loving yourself you really appreciate the people that look like you no shade. I think you are absolutely beautiful and i hope you feel the same way. We are not supposed to all LOOK exactly the same. People need to realize we are living in bodies that are meant to expire stop trying to form clay into glass, beauty is in the art not the artist.

I love being a black women, I just hate what comes with it. But you can never make me hate myself simply bc of my race 😅

This video is taking me because I was just explaining how being a black woman is not a walk in the park and I wouldn’t want to put that burden on anyone in this world, but the masses won’t understand where you’re coming from and won’t watch this whole video. People are too sensitive and delusional, they want you to be as well. Meanwhile we are dying every 5 hours.

Sorry Princess. I’m not happy you feel that way as a black woman. Your hair is very beautiful too. From a black man ❤️🙌🏾

This is why representation is so important. You're beautiful regardless of how your hair is styled but you can't expect that confirmation to be given from outsiders.

For me personally it's being a dark skinned black woman with African features. Even as a South African living among black people I was treated poorly and made to feel inferior because of it. Being a racially unambiguous black woman is so emotionally taxing.

It’s painfully obvious that a considerable amount of the commenters didn’t watch the entire video

I would like to say that I think as a woman it’s normal to be attached to your hair. i think women of all races are, just for black women our relationship with our hair is more complex.
