I've wanted one of these for years, and I finally found one where the price was right. Originally these came out as a Suzuki LT4WD 250cc version in the late '80's, and I've wanted one ever since. This one is the upgraded 300cc KingQuad version, with more power and 5-lug rear wheels. After a little over 30 years of pining away for one, I finally have one of my own. It even mostly works!

Finally getting one from my dad. First quad he ever bought back in 96 absolutely the best vehicle we ever owned. So many HARD years of brutal WORK. Anyone who used these things knows how solid and useful they are. Ours tumbled end over end FAR down a mountain and it was completely fine. These aren't just your normal quad they are group of hardened horses rolled into one machine. Fantastic video sir!

I’ll never forget the day my day brought our ‘87 250 quadrunner home. After 35 year it’s still more advanced than most machines out there. It didn’t have a cig outlet, oh well in 87 we had nothing to plug in there anyway lol.

My family got 250cc Kingquad in 80's and it lasted about 15 years of absolutly brutal work. It was used in reindeer herding, we hauled logs from forest with it and we modified an old horse drawn sickle mower for it. When it finally gave it's life away we got 350cc Honda. That was not and bad machine but without range shift it just couldn't handle the same work, it lasted just one year. Now we have had 300cc KQ for 25 years. And it is still going strong. The only other machine, that is as versatile as Kingquad is a horse. But Kingquad doesn't complain if you leave it alone for few months.

You might be correct on being the best quad. I worked as a motorcycle mechanic for a summer years ago.
I remember when a king quad came in from a popular farm in my area for regular service. Thing had more manure on it then in my septic system.
It also had 47, 900 miles on it haha. Never seen a quad close to that mileage. Coworkers told me they really never had to do anything major to it.
Btw awesome idea on cv boot repair!

My first atv was a 1996 Suzuki king quad and let me tell u that thing was a That thing would pull down the gates of hell!! With its super low diff lock. I loved the quick pull reverse lever and other controls but I hated the brakes and 5 lug rear wheels. I had the same problem with my valves they seemed to need adjustment once a year, but as a teenager I abused the hell out of it!!! And it just kept going!! Great machine I miss mine so much

Had one as a kid. Beat the living hell out of it, jumping it, rolling it, and just generally abusing it. Ran like a top for ever, with little to no maintenance lol. Just a great quad.

If I was a homesteader, I could haul all the logs needed, rocks, plow, winch, hunt, and farm with a King Quad 300. Built to last. Great Frame. I have mine on an island and hope it lasts forever.

Brother and I both purchased Two new atv's back in purchased a Forman 400 and I got the King who pulled him out of trouble most of the time ? Yep, the King 4 wheel drive along with independent suspension was the cats big advantage is being able to ride in 2 wheel drive most of the engage 4 wheel drive when in eventually sold he got more money for the inferior atv than I figure.

I traded a rusted out 1969 Ford Bronco straight across for a new 2003 King Quad 400 that had been rolled but fixed up good enough for me. Best deal I could have made although I wouldn't mind the Bronco project now nearly 20 years later.
It was cool to hear about the 300, ahead of it's time it seems. Glad I discovered your channel.

I had one of the 90's quad runner 250 versions. That thing was a mountain goat. Point it in a direction with super low and diff lock it wouldn't stop. Unless you fell off and was upside down on top of you. Happened once in a sand dune. Found out the limitations that day.
