I'll break it down for you:
Honda - Reliable but outdated and not very fun
Polaris - Fun as hell to ride and comfy but some issues, belt and axles
Yamaha - Fun as well and extremely reliable but have honky 4wd switch and feel top heavy
CanAm - For the rich guy who likes to show off. $$$ to fix
Kawi - Great snort and power but also known to have issues (electrical)

Pick which one you like and treat them good (they aren't boats). Maintenance is key.

I worked in northern Canada for more than a decade in -50 temperatures or lower, in blizzards so intense your house would shutter, a place where travelling any more than a mile or two from home created potential life ending threats at any time (polar bears run like Usain Bolt when they smell a meal on wheels). The priority for any ATV rider in these conditions is "RELIABILITY"... which is why I chose the Yamaha 686 liquid cooled single piston engine, an absolutely bullet proof power source in any weather condition. Of course, most ATV owners aren't working/playing in those conditions so the contexts may be off.... but you only appreciate the genius of Japanese engineering when things go wrong.

I just bought a new 2021 cfmoto cforce 600...with all the features, may be the best bang for the buck...I've owned several ATVs over the years, honda, Suzuki, yamaha, polaris...what I got with the cf as standard in features, is far above anything mentioned here...So far, rock solid both snow plowing and play...

I have a 2014 Suzuki KingQuad LT-A 400 and 2020 Suzuki KingQuad LT-A 750. Awesome quads!

The japanese brands are easily the best quads for me personally. Reliability is feature number one for me, always. We've had Suzukis, Yamahas and Kawies in our family, always rock solid. Polaris and canam always seem to have some issues, especially electrical, this is also my personal experience.

We have a 2009 Polaris Sportsman 850 and have put several hundred miles on it, and she still runs and drives good. Very powerful, very smooth

They all make good ATVs really. Just remember that the middle weight ones are best for most people Honda Rincon or Foreman, Polaris 450ho or 570, Yamaha Kodiak or Grizzly 700 and Suzuki king quad are all good choices. As for Can Am they are expensive to buy and to repair but they are freaking beasts with power and high quality parts like Fox suspension and damn near water and mud proof . If you want to ride hard core mud and trails and money is no object Can Am all the way. I myself went with the Polaris sportsman 570 and it's just right for me. One more thing the big boys like the 850s and 1000s are dangerously fast and heavy they also get terrible milage like 12 to 18 mpg and expensive parts. Just think like car parts the best selling ones are generally cheaper to maintain and easier to work on.

Despite the smaller motor, the Honda Rubicon 520 is a much better utility machine in every way than the outdated Honda Rincon 680. The Rincon's only advantage is being faster. The Suzuki KingQuad also belongs on any utility Top 5 list. The Rubicon and KingQuad both have a tow rating of 1, 322 pounds and have earned reputations for their dependability.

I have a 2021 Can-Am Outlander Max 1000 XT-P. Everything about it is amazing. Power, suspension, comfort beyond comfort for driver and passenger, great additions like the trunks, heated grips and throttle for driver and passenger, the ProMount plow system is the simplest on and off I could imagine. About 4 seconds to put it on and 4 seconds to take it off. Yes, like they said, anything to do with Can-Am is expensive as fuck, but man it's been worth it.

Nothing better than a Honda. I had an Arctic Cat from hell. That taught me a lesson. Do not buy any ATV unless it is Japanese, preferably a Honda.

I bought a 2021 cfmoto 800 it’s an awesome ATV well put together. The fuel tanks are too small on those ATV. This thing holds 30 L of gas which is 7.9 US gals or 6.6 imperial gals. Looks like you also forgot Arctic Cat, CFMOTO and Hisun and Argo made in New Hamburg Ontario. You see there’s a lot more than five different makes of ATVs. I like Honda I have a Honda car and a Honda truck but their ATVs are pretty outdated and they don’t have a 2 up machine and there are a lot of cash for what you’re getting and I might add the other makes are the same. CFMOTO comes fully loaded with high/low beam headlights, daytime running lights, horn, 4 way flashers and mirrors, winch, trailer hitch, trailer harness for lights on your trailer. Also 4 wheel adjustable independent suspension with front diff lock and five year warranty or 5000 km(3000 miles)in Canada. To get all those features on the other ATV you’re probably need about another $6000.
