Gareth you have been very helpful to so many of us in the graphics design world. Your step-by-step explanation videos are very well presented and make design fun to learn. That you have made it available for free shows how kind and generous you are. Someday soon when I become a millionaire, I will make a handsome donation. Keep doing what you're doing, God bless you!

I may be almost 5 years too late, but I could hug you! Been trying to find an easy way to convert RGB to TCX and this technique did the trick perfectly. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I'm in a college Ai course that requires me to work in CMYK, then upload my artwork to a discussion board in RGB. I was shocked by the shift in colors between the 2 versions, so I asked my instructor how to get consistent colors between Ai and .jpg files. Her answer "you just have to live with it". I've had lots of other questions for my instructor that got similar responses. I'm so thankful for your channel with its easy to understand tutorials. It's really sad when I can learn more from your YT videos than I can in a college level course I paid lots of money for. Again, sincere thanks for what you do. Because of your channel, I am able to use Ai much more efficiently than if I had relied only on the instruction in my college class. Now if I could only get my instructor to stop lowering my grade because I work in multiple layers...Gareth, will you come and teach at my school?

As always whenever I reach out to you TastyTuts I get a very clear answer. Besides clarity you don't waste my time. Thank you very much. You are my go to source for all things Adobe.

Thank you, Gareth! This video was really easy to follow along.

I had just got off a call with a client who needed the CMYK values converted to Pantone. And this tutorial helped me provide a quick solution. Many thanks, again!

Great timing on this video/ I have almost completed my first profoessional pieces of art which are going to be printed on T-shirts. Up to now I have been copying and pasting and trying to manually guess the colours. This technique will be so much more accurate as well as quicker

... this technique works up to a point to get the structure into separate unique ink channels ... however this method depends on the output intent profile of your working color spaces ... if you change the output intent color profile of your working space, the output pantone value will differ ... it's the same problem in reverse with pantone to CMYK ... the output intent profile determines the conversion ... this is fundamentally about output intent on different materials ... in the printing industry different profiles are created for different materials and special finishes ... try converting a pantone in photoshop to CMYK using different working space profiles and you will see what I mean ...

Hi there! When I follow your instructions I do not get new (pantone) colour swatches next to my original swatches like you do. Is there something not correct in my settings?
