We just got back from Portugal for a 2-weeks sisters trip.
We spent 4 nights in Porto, 6 nights in Lisbon, 3 nights and Evora.
I totally agreed with you about spending more rather spent more time in Porto. I love this place. The hilly walking (we didn’t not spend a dollar on public transportation as we were just spending time with historical area.
Loved the foods. People… extremely friendly and honest.
Don’t forget to eat some roasted chestnut.
The book store: we spent €15/person ticket and got a book. Read it during my flight back to the US. I would love to come back to Porto again in the future.

I'm in Porto right now and I have to say that this is the best video on YouTube about this lovely city. The pork sandwich at Casa Guedes is to die for.

Thanks for this great video.

I absolutely love Portugal. I've stayed in Lisbon, Porto and Braga. I really fell in love with Braga.

Hello Camden, the building were is situated McDonalds Aliados was an iconic café called Imperial. The architectural style is Art Déco. The café was inaugurated in 1936. Wen I studied at Porto University, in 1980-1985, I used to go to Imperial to drink coffee. Those days, the coffee was not expresso! Thank you for your kind review of Porto.

My husband and I just found your channel last night. This review is spot on. Porto was by far one of our favorite spots in Portugal as well. Can’t wait to go back. We’ll have to hit up some of your recommended restaurants next time!

I find it amusing how he warns the audience of touristy places when the audience is comprised of prospective tourists.

Another very good video! We lived in Lisbon for 1.5 years before moving to Braga in November 2023. We spent a week in Porto on vacation a couple of years ago, and now are less than an hour by train from Porto. Now that we're done with moving, and the weather is improving, we hope to make more regular visits to Porto, because it is a stunning city in so many ways.
The time of year you visit will have a big impact. Looks like you were there in (I'm guessing) December? During the warmer months, Porto really shines. I would get a metro/public transport pass, and use it, especially when the weather is nice. Easy to get to the beach, and there's some great beach bars an easy bus ride from city center. Matosinhos has some great sea food places, and is worth some time, too.
For us, we absolutely LOVED our time in Lisbon. The more I got to know that city, the more I liked it (apart from housing prices). And I think that applies to either city; the first couple of days you need time to adjust and learn your way around a bit. But, the more you settle in, the better it gets. I think people who start in Lisbon and finish in Porto may wind up liking Porto more because they are more comfortable being in Portugal, and might have some more confidence to try more things. I think both cities are fantastic, and two of my 3 favorite cities of all time (shout out to Glasgow Scotland!). All 3 have a lot in common. All are a bit "gritty" with some rough edges, but massively fun and interesting, great people, and only get better the more you get to know each city. I can't wait to spend more time in Porto now :)

15:10 port wine is designed as an aperitif for after the meal, thats why you dont need to drink a whole bottle with a meal.

Btw old the big iron bridge that links Porto to Gaia was actually designed by Gustave Eiffel, the creator of the Eiffel tower in France.

My girlfriend and I just found your vids on Lisbon and Porto… just in time. We have a trip planned for both in a week. 5 days in Lisbon, 4 Porto. But we may head to Porto a few days earlier now.

Great job: succinct, packed with info. Two — well, four! — thumbs up.

Thank you for very good review/guidance! We are thinking of spending some days in december to celebrate the new year´s eve in Porto, never been there before. I hope the city is walkable then and most shops are open regardless the wet weather.
