The United States formally begins withdrawing its last troops from Afghanistan Saturday, bringing its longest war nearer to an end but also heralding an uncertain future for a country in the tightening grip of an emboldened Taliban.

The objectives of Afghan war were to establishing a stable democratic state with the ability to sustain and defend itself, and the prevention of the return of the Taliban. USA failed to achieve all the objectives and to save face they made a deal with the Taliban which they were supposed to eliminate.
