This guy inspires me, he's a medical doctor, he is very tech savvy, he is philosophical, a gamer, a youtube content creator and a powerlifter.

I see myself as tremendously inadequate when I see Bernard but not in a bad way. In a way that inspires me to achieve more and that I can do so much more with my life.

It's crazy how much longer computers last now. I built a gaming PC in 2012 for $1, 000 with an 3770k and 16 GB ram. Other than the video card dying a few years back (where I just purchased a $50 replacement) and upgrading the ram around that same time to 32 gb (for equally cheap), it was fine until recently when I really started seeing mediocre performance in games and upgraded. And honestly, for regular use, it would still be very fast.

You just couldn't have that kind of longevity with computers in the 90's and 2000's.

"I married my wife in 2010. Here's how she holds up in 2018".

We divorced 8 years ago. She took my house, my money and my virginity. Now I am homeless, without money and living in an internet cafe.

In 2018, I still use my gaming PC bought for $1000 in 2009. The only considerable upgrade was last year, when I ditched my HD 5870 for a GTX 1060, added 2GB of RAM to get an 8GB total, changed the case and some coolers. It runs just about everything with fairly good perfomance at 1080p and will serve me at least more 2 or 3 years. The longevity of RAM, motherboards and CPUs has improved big time in this decade.

Man.... watching this on a pc with a R7 5700X, 32gb of 3600MHZ Ram (unthinkable back in 2010), and a RTX4060TI that could take that 970 to the moon and back 10 times is crazy.... computers really have come such a long way. even more crazy to think that even my computer which is significantly more recent would only be considered on the high side of the mid end spectrum/ on the low side of the high end spectrum.

'RTX 2780TI, Intel i11-15000k, 2 DDR7 128 GB Ram sticks, 30 TB SSD, 1 Pentabyte HHD' for $1.2k in 2028? since computers are supposingly getting 'cheaper' from 12k to 1-2k
