Logic Pro X tips 21 - Creating loops (Adjust tempo by selection & locators)

preview_player
Показать описание
Set the project tempo to a loop so that a loop perfectly loops around 1, 2 or 4 bars etc. This technique is also required as a step to create your own Apple loops. Also showsn is the Marquee Tool tip to detect transients in the loop to get perfect start/end points.

This is probably the most useful tip I've gotten. I always have so much trouble after I create a sound I want to build a song around trying to find a good tempo. Thanks!

Wow, little stuff like this makes the biggest difference in the world for my style. Everything I'm doing musically at this point revolves around me playing my synth and recording for about a half an hour, sometimes as long as an hour. Then Im usually listening to and enjoying my solo "jam" sessions whenever I'm in the car or out and about doing other things. I will then find parts that I like have having familiarizing myself with the overall mood of the recording then going back into Logic and making loops. So this definitely helps me especially because i hardly ever use a metronome when recording and often change tempo throughout recording.

So I am not at my computer at the moment but I am wanted to create a seamless loop to bring in the new 10.5 sampler and have it mapped to my midi keyboard so this will do that ? I will not have to do in Zoom way in to the wave form and. Cut of the zero crossing ?

This is really useful. Is there any way of doing the same thing when using software instruments? In this software instrument editor area I can see no option for 'Adjust tempo by selection & locators'.

Logic makes things so complicated.
Why can’t you just set your loop with the locators.
then select SET PROJECT TEMPO BY LOCATORS.

I take it this is before Smart tempo. Obviously it would be done differently.
