The gain in 9750H isn't just the slight performance increase, believe or not it also runs slightly cooler due to slightly different manufacturing (even though it's the same 14nm+++ architecture)

BTW, Lenovo somehow screwed up the BIOS 1.09 update which with whatever reason they disabled fan control. In 1.10, it seems that the problem is fixed. So depends on the BIOS version, the test may not be accurate.

i just got this laptop yesterday by ups its really good Y740 just so i don't need to bring a heavy gaming desktop tour when travailing aka it's built for gaming as i built it from scratch.

proud owner of the 8750H model... but my only concern is the medium battery. i had to undervoltage the cpu -140mva to get 4 hours of screen at 90% brightness word excel.. and 40-60c cpu temps.

6:26 You know exactly why Intel did this. Artificial product segmentation so people will spend more money and the big wigs at Intel can make their shareholders grin. As someone with a almost 4 year old laptop I'm glad they released a minor upgrade (and not even for a higher price mind you) instead of just waiting for 10th gen cpus.

how's the display quality in gaming? Does HDR makes dark scene hard to visible while gaming? Have you experienced any problem regarding overexposure of bright scenes while gaming?
