Hospital Team Saves Man from Pulmonary Embolism - CHI Health

January 21, 2022 is Brad Polanski's Rebirthday. Brad had suffered a pulmonary embolism, died and came back thanks to the team at CHI Health Lakeside in Omaha, NE.

On Friday, October 20, 2023, the CHI Health Foundation and CHI Health Lakeside hosted its 15th annual Jewels of Autumn event to benefit the emergency department’s redesign. The event was an opportunity for our Lakeside community to come together to celebrate. During the event a remarkable patient story was featured. This video details Brad Polanski's time spent at Lakeside’s emergency department, shared by Brad himself and the outstanding team who cared for him.

The redesign of Lakeside's emergency department will allow for easier access for patients, enhance safety measures, and improve functionality for registration and nursing. Two triage bays will be configured in the redesign for initiation of treatment and will assist in expediting patients through their visit, ultimately enhancing care in our area for patients like Brad and all others in our community.
