The only difference between the inktense and watercolor pencils is the inktense is (supposed to be) permanent when dried after dilution/watering down. So you can layer over with lifting and mixing or muddy-ing etc. And then theres the opacity and full disolvability in inktense vs almost all water-soluble pencils. Now thats for almost all. There are exceptions for the relifting ability. Opacity and the disolvibility. But 80% of the inktense are highly lightfast. Thats not a bad percentage. Sadly most water-soluble pencils dont have that kind of lightfastness unless your spending alot more. But i agree, i think its not worth the money for the pencils atleast, the blocks though, i loveee. The ability to underlayer large areas like you would with pastels makes me happy hahaha. And to not have to use a fixative to have it stay put under other mediums is always a plus. But everyone has their own needs and priorities in their art and art supplies <3

I have used them and owned the pencils and the full tins of the sticks. I got just as much if not more brightness by my regular FC watercolor pencils no offense. I did 4 paintings and then sent the products back or gave them away as I found out about the lightfastness in a bad way. It’s a huge hunk of $ to not have everything one would want. I use my regular wc, pencils, pastels, colored pencils, graphite and charcoal. My go to paper is Arches. I redid my paintings after learning the hard way in not to waste on product such as this.
