Fibonacci Rabbits (2017)

A song about the Fibonacci sequence. Based on Robert Schumann's Op. 48, Dichterliebe a song which has had original text of Heinrich Heine. The German text was replaced with more mathematical population dynamics content. An illustration for a Math 21b review on April 2, 2017. In the spring of 2017, we had lots of rabbits in Arlington. During one run, I counted 13, a Fibonacci number! When I had told that to Jameel, a colleague of mine, he asked: "are you sure, it had not been just the same rabbit?" indeed a possibility because unlike in these slides, our Arlington rabbits look all the same.

In the wonderful month of Mai
Two rabbits went to play
A third rabbit saw the day
Then five and eight, yuhei!

In the wonderful month of June
Thirteen rabbits grew to 21 soon
They sang and jumped and had more sex
Now, they all have an Oedipus complex!
