Proper dual tourniquet application

Proper dual tourniquet application involves 2 TQT placed side by side & touching. That essentially doubles the width of the tourniquet - wider tourniquets occlude better.

Wow I actually had it backwards. I knew it was 2-3 inches above the wound, but I thought the second tq was 2-3 above the first. Glad you explained it!

When I was in army basic training the instructor said if you put 2 cat ts in the same limb if they arnt touching each other its wrong

So do you apply the Tourniquet 2-3 inches above, or “High and tight?” It really would be nice to have a set standard rather than conflicting information

I figured high and tight and then the second one is 3 inches above the knee never below that’s a no. . These things are important to know just in case you ever find yourself in a situation that requires you to help someone .
