I'm a Swedish/Caribbean guy and a fan of the channel. I live in Stockholm not far from the Wasa Museum and it really might be one of the most impressive museums I've been to anywhere in the world. It's always fun to bring guests from abroad to see it and watch their jaw drop. The ship lay underwater 333 years before being discovered and was able to be salvaged in almost full condition. This is because of the brackish water that the Baltic Sea happens to hold and therfore the wooden ship didn't rott.

About that London sky scraper; In the UK they usually take every little detail in consideration when they build stuff.

The sun however is not a very well known phenomenon in the UK....

With all due respect, I strongly disagree with your opinion on the metric and imperial system. Metric is subjectively better if you can count to 10. For what it is worth, I am from and live in the US. Thanks for the on going high quality content, and the shear amount you produce.

If you get a chance to visit Stockholm, you really must see the Vasa. The amount of detail and pride in building it is obvious, even if it sank.

I’ve seen the Vasa ship in real life, it’s truly majestic and while it was a war ship it would be like showing up in a tank made of gold. Purely a show of status.
It was tall and pretty thin which was how it was blown off balance and it’s weight dragged it down. It’s decked out in beautiful decorations and statues.

Also in the museum they had a reconstruction of how it looked inside and I hit my head more than I like to admit as I got some pictures.

pretty much any major government program. The War on Poverty for instance hasn't exactly helped poverty much. or "war on drugs". Theres a few trillion spent.

Working in tens is so simple.
You do it with money, so why on earth wouldn't you do it when measuring?

There are plenty of videos on that disaster.
This one by 'Today I found out' is good, its called 'How Drilling a 14 in. Hole Created a 1.3K ft Deep Saltwater Lake Out of a 10 ft Deep Freshwater One'

You have to know the saying" a ship can never have too many guns!" Thats the Vasa. They just threw as many guns as possible on the ship, thats why it sank

I expected the problem with the Hubble Space Telescope to be on here. There was an imperfection in the telescope smaller than the width of a human hair that necessitated a multimillion dollar repair mission.

Well, I am swedish and as far as I have heard it was due to the fact that the KING demanded the ship to be longer and higher during the buildingprocess it got to be so unstabile . The fact that the King also wanted more guns higher up the construction was to thin for its length and topheavy .

I have seen the Vasa ship, beautiful, but I can see why it sank. It was not built for war (or sailing)... despite being a warship.

things made in that part of the world? a building collapsed in Iowa a couple of days ago because the landlord wedged some friggin' pipes between a bulging brick wall and the ground even though it was obviously a massive structural issue to the naked eye. They were even trying to demolish it while someone alive's phone was still pinging from inside the rubble. And this is to say nothing of the Surfside collapse in Florida and resulting condemnation of a number of buildings in the area

I might say that electing some Austrian lunatic as Chancellor of Germany was expensive mistake😁

Russia was very active in financing exploration in the Pacific especially during the height of the Sea Otter fur trade with China before those animals were hunted out of existence off the coasts of Northern California, Oregon and Washington by fur trading ships and local tribes. In addition to the charting of the Bering Sea by Danish hire Vitus Bering and the settling of Alaska the Russians also had a settlement granted by the Kingdom of Hawai'i on the island of Kaua'i to build Fort Elizabeth but they were soon expelled by Islanders and American fur traders. The site is now a U.S. National Park.

Hmmm what about Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, or Halifax Explosion? I would have guessed that they were expensive mistakes.

Are you seriously debating the metric system being superior to the imperial system?

It's interesting anyone can say 1-10-100-1000-10000 being standard for all measurements is somehow less likeable than the imperial system.
