I have a reaction to women that I believe is similar to PTSD.
I have been hurt so deeply and rejected so many times that when a female interacts with me I default into an asexual mode. Sometimes women make their interest so plain that it is borderline embarrassing, but memories of broken hearts and hundreds of bitchy rejections cause a wall to be thrown up.
When I was a young man women were not interested in me. I was a clean cut young professional who was going places. The young females wanted dirtbags who would treat them poorly.
Nearly 20 years of rejection and lonely nights, with a couple of broken hearts, changed me.
I found that, while part of me still wanted someone to love, another part of me was no longer interested, because a powerful association had been formed between interaction with women and unspeakable pain.
I have not been on a date, or touched a woman sexually, for almost 22 years.
There have been offers, but I cannot bring myself to do it.

I 100% agree that online dating has generally had a negative effect on the dating ecosystem. I've been on tinder since 2014 and in these 8 years the tinder experience has changed a lot. I've been on eHarmony a few times over the years too. It used to be that men and women that PAID for a dating system/service it meant more engaged users and even that has changed.

I also feel the "Me Too" movement has hurt the well intentioned, well behaved men too.

It’s about a justice system that assumes the man is the aggressor and a court system that assumes the woman is the better parent. It’s about MeToo and “believe all women “. Guys under 30 and, in fact, over 30 too have sincerely tried but ran into a lot of hassles. We walk a minefield of political correctness and can easily offend for saying lame or mild comments so we have to filter everything. I can see why people walk out of the game of love. Then you see a 50% divorce rate and child support and all marital discord. Relationships are great and yet I understand why people are choosing single life.

Of course what women say they want doesn't always match what they actually want. Women have to have accountability in a society that is trying to practice equality. I noticed she completely skipped over the 80/20 rule. I don't think she goes out into the real world. I see women of all ages having their ear buds in, if I see those, I won't even acknowledge them. How many people do you see that are either talking on their phone or looking at it and are oblivious to what is going on around them.

Most of my friends in my social circle are conventionally attractive, conservative Christians, but they are still virgins close to 30 years age. There's one guy - white, 6ft, no debts, has a car and a house, well paid job. Basically, has his life figured out. In every 4 relationships he has had in the past year, the women initiated the breakup over petty reasons despite being Christians themselves. I mean, you'd expect people with a religious background to be more forgiving, patient and more empathetic, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I was rolling my eyes when I heard the reasons over which they initiated the breakup with him. All of them were mostly based on superficial, selfish reasons. There's nothing wrong with the guy.. he's an extrovert, funny outgoing guy. Kind and open to help anyone. You'd think someone like him would be a catch, but not based on his experience so far. There's something seriously wrong with women in this country.. he confided to me yesterday that if things don't work out in his next relationship, he'd probably give up his faith and seek women in other cultures where women don't have unrealistic standards in men.

Lost my wife of 26 years to cancer four & a half years ago.
I was in my late 40's I tried to meet someone but it all seems to hard.
The options dating apps give to women & believe me when women show you how many guys are hitting them up it seems pointless.
So given up spending hours of useless texting.
Then throw in raising my kids, work & family.
Hopefully life won't be to long . Lol
