Prove that 1/√2 is an irrational number
Note:
1/√2 is proved irrational by a technique called "proof by contradiction"

Remember:
Rational numbers
Numbers that can be expressed in p/q form.
Example: 10/20 or 17/13
Irrational numbers
Numbers that can't be expressed in p/q form.
Example: √5, √2
Co-primes
Two numbers that have no common factor other than 1
Example: 17 and 23 or 16 and 15
Steps to follow :
1. Assume, the given number is rational
2. p and q are co-primes and q is not equal to zero
3. p and q are integers
Practice:

2. Prove that 3+2√5 is irrational
