About:
The PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2) is an upcoming virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 5 home video game console developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment set to be released February 22, 2023.[2][3]

History
Sony's first PlayStation VR was released in 2016. Sony announced the PlayStation VR2 for the PlayStation 5 at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show.[4][5]

A release date of February 22, 2023, and a retail price of $549.99 was announced in November 2, 2022 at the official PlayStation Blog.[6]

Hardware
The headset will connect to the PlayStation 5 console with a single USB-C cable.[2] Unlike the first generation PlayStation VR, which tracked player movements through an external PlayStation Camera, the PS VR2 will track movements by four cameras mounted on the headset.[2][3]

The PlayStation VR2 will have an OLED panel with a 4K display resolution.[2] Each display will have a resolution of 2,000 x 2,040 pixels.[3] The headset has two inward-facing eye-tracking cameras. It uses eye-tracking to enable games to use Foveated rendering, a performance optimization technique where the render resolution of the game is reduced in areas where the player is not looking.[3]

The PS VR2 will also feature the new "Sense" controllers.[2] The features of these controllers include the same haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense, as well as some limited finger tracking.[2]

PS VR2 cannot play first generation PS VR games. Sony explains that this is because the PS VR2 was designed to deliver "a truly next-generation VR experience".[7][8]

Games and content
More than 20 games are in development for PS VR2 from PlayStation Studios and third party partners, including Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, No Man's Sky, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, Demeo and PS VR2 exclusive Horizon Call of the Mountain.[9] Gran Turismo 7 and Beat Saber were also confirmed in January.[10]

Reception
Early previews have been positive.[2] The Sense controllers received acclaim from CNET.[3] The lack of backward compatibility, and the price of the headset received mixed reaction.[11][12][13][14]

I’ve had slight motion sickness after playing Horizon Call of the Mountain and faster cars on GT7. Thankfully it hasn’t been as long lasting as when I had motion sickness with the original PSVR1 and I’m determined to work my way to hopefully building full resistance on the PSVR2 as GT7 in particular is absolutely spectacular.

Im new to VR, got a PSVR2 on launch. I got mild sickness on day one, took a rest, then kept it to short sessions for day 2 (hour a a time) day 3 and I can play all day...only taking breaks to charge the controllers XD. Im playing Zenith...Im sure thats the worst way to start lol...flying is crazy! I love it now!

Just train yourself a bit at a time...new gamers might take a couple weeks.

Great video David. Video game playing has come such a long way. I remember the days of playing my Play Station 2 games such as Madden, NBA2K and WWE 2K. Now there are VR games which people could experience motion sickness. You really educated me in this video sir.

Nice Video.
Snap Turning really helps with motion sickness, since it removes the turning motion and your suddenly looking at a different angle.
It's how I have been able to enjoy RE Village VR : )

Just got my psvr2 yesterday. First experience after the initial “holy shit!” Was immediate wooziness. Lasted an hour or so after a 10 minute drive on the nordshleife. Today, i did about an hour and felt uneasy for a good three hours afterwards. I want my vr legs now so I can actually enjoy it. It actually makes me hesitant to use it. That being said, It is truly a spectacular experience that is almost indescribable

Great tips. I'll keep these in mind as I'd like to introduce VR to some friends.👍

I was literally just about to return it, but I can be impatient and I'm going to change that by working my way up.

Yes I have to say that GT7 and Kayak have given me slight motion sickness. So I’m playing them for just minutes and hopefully work my way up. A fan pointed right at me really helps and I heard that ginger chews help eliminate motion sickness prior to playing such games mentioned above.

Thanks Dave, I’d be keen to try this out. Great tips, I suffer badly from motion sickness usually associated with travel which can last days. When I used the oculus back in the day it triggered it almost immediately and I simply could not use it. Keen too try this new tech with feedback to see if it is better. Keep up the great content.

I played drums rock for 30 min and I was dizzy for a good hour afterwards. I needed to lay down. I hope this doesn’t continue. This is my first VR set.

Psvr 1 made me sick but I've got hours and hours in on psvr2 and I hadn't had any issues at all

I just got my PSVR2. I'm going to put more hours into VR gaming and try to extend my playtime each session with the headset. I think it's simply a case of brain training to get used to the sensations and fast movements.

Got Psvr 2 yesterday. Call of the mountain & RE 8 are not the best for newcomers to VR. I’m going try something a little less intense and work up

Doom vrf on psvr1 had a awesome vertigo level. My oldest boi said I was nuts doing that level and diving off the edge over a 1000 times

I now own 3 headsets including, psvr, psvr2, and vavle index paired with a 4090 on pc, Sadly i will never be able to overcome VR sickness when it comes to artificial movment, iv been playing VR since 2016 and its never gotten better for me, any game with artificial movement makes me super sick in seconds, however games that have teleport movement dont bother me at all, half life alyx, robo recall are great examples, of course games like beat saber, moss, and audica are also just fine, However i have made slight progress after 8 years of playing VR, i can now play race games like GT7 for about 3 to 5 mins before geting sick which is a huge improvment from when i first started playing VR, im hoping that maybe a in a few more years i will be able to finish a whole race in GT7, currently im struggling with horizon call of the mountain as it has no teleport to move option however i found that if i close one eye and move slow i can tolerate it for about 10 mins, but all the climbing sections make me sick no mater what i do and i have to stop for about a hour after doing one, which sucks because it seems like 75% of the gameplay is stupid climbing lol.
