Excellent instructions. I specially like the part to disconnect the camera. No other video to my knowledge has so far recommended this. The only other thing I would do is put back on the camera protector so the camera does not flop around during the rotations.

Hi Guillermo, Yuneec recommends calibrating before every flight. Generally speaking, however, we have found that it is only necessary to do so if you have travelled for long distances with your Q500 or you have changed the compass. Apart from that, it should function as per normal. Please let us know if you have any further questions about this.

I have a few observations on this video. First off the ST-10 transmitter has a place in it to set the unit into calibration mode? This also the same way the Chroma is calibrated. Also I saw no mention of this needing to be completed in 30 seconds as stated in the instruction manual of the Typhoon. For those who have not calibrated the unit you are taking your chances that it ever comes back to you. This should always be done when moving from one area to another. It is free! don't be lazy... And don't cry when it flies away..
As for unplugging the camera as a rule I don't feel that is a good idea. The wire is small and the plug is not designed for excessive use. Over time I see that plug being damaged. Also I work with multiple brands of Multirotor machines and DJI does not want you to unplug the gimbal as it creates a RF field that the unit should be calibrated with it on. If you do it with the camera and gimbal off that changes the field that the GPS is in while in operation. I have calibrated numerous Quads and Hexicopters with several different brands of gimbals and there is no reason to think there has been any damage to them from this. I sell and service these units daily and have never had any problems while following the procedures in the manual for the last 5 years but deviation by customers have resulted in damage and loss. On a side note the video from Yuneec does not unplug the gimbal and they use the radio to get into the mode..

You say turn 45 degrees and flip, it forward, but you are rolling it sideways not forward? Which is it?

Thanks for doing this video, though I have to say: I've had my Q500 for several months, now, and have never done a compass calibration with it. So far, I've never had any noticeable trouble with it at all, and I've travelled more than a hundred miles between flying sites. What problem is supposed to manifest if the compass calibration is wrong or off? Is there a risk of fly-away?

the offcial instruction seem to differ from your instructions, it is at the end the show a picutre a holding it straight back to North, this is what i do always with successful results tested and works have not seen your version placing it down in the last 45 degree angle interesting. does this work every time?
