Yuneec Q500 Typhoon 4k quadcopter - Hands on

Quadcopters keep getting more sophisticated and easy to fly, and Yuneec's sleek Q500 Typhoon is the latest entry in a growing field of large quads with excellent cameras. It even looks like it escaped from a sci-fi movie.

But sharp looks aside, this flying machine has the goods where it counts: long flying times, a smart ("easy") flying mode for beginners, auto return and landing, and best of all, a new 4K video/12mp still camera mounted to a gimbal that also allows the camera to rotate up and down on command.

The included remote features a full-color Android-powered touchscreen so you can see what the drone is recording and a full suite of customization that lets you fly and shoot like a pro. Did we mention it's great looking, too?

Interesting to watch this in 2024. This was my first drone. I’ve since bought a Mavic 2 Zoom and now I own the Air 3. The Yuneec was a fantastic drone at the time. But the technology has come along way now when you compare the current offerings from DJI.

sweet drone. my battery fell out due to a faulty door hatch and it crash landed in a fresh water lake. it took me a few days dragging the bottom of lake to find it. thoughly dried it out and it's never flown better. there is very little inside and modern electrics are awesome. luckily I was night flying without camera fitted at the time...

I got this drone for 20 bucks and it works great I just don’t know is a camera for the drone included

Smart Mode takeoffs are very dangerous when in small confined areas drown will actually just go wild trying to find a place away from the controller if you're not 26 foot away from drone it will crash into anything in its way to accomplish the 26ft distance

The only complaint I have is that the case is not really that strong but it does do its job which is good.

any suggestions on getting the battery door to stay closed during flight, other than tape? The latch is very weak.

Love my q500 4K but i highly recommend getting the aeronaut cam carbon fiber rotors. Makes a world of difference

Is this any better then Phantom 3 standard when it comes to range?Video
range? I mean this thing is much more expensive is it because of 4k
camera only? How is the video range and that is what is important to me
not the camera?! Right now my local best buy sells this thing for 699
but before i buy i must know about the range compared to the phantom3
standard.

Great video, I read that this drone his maximum altitude is 2, 368 mts. which is a lot, but I would like to buy it and film in an altitude of 3000 meters, I can do that? in some other way? there is a place that I can go to that altitude and get there in a car, I mean my self and the control will be also at that altitude.

I couldn't get the white batteries to fit the hatch couldn't close I needed a upgrade charger too any tips
