RuneScape 3's esports event was a disaster

In 2017, Jagex hosted the first ever esport event designed exclusively for their flagship game. However, when everything that could go wrong actually does go wrong, there's no stopping the chaotic storm ahead.

I qualified for the finale, but because of the date it was pushed back to I couldn't participate. I was so damn excited, but I had to drive home from college on the day it got pushed back to. I was so dissapointed, but happy that I ended up getting the pet even though I couldn't participate.

One thing I've learned is that player-made tournaments are more organized than whatever tournament Jagex makes

Jagex continues to embarrass themselves as a a game studio with these botched competitions and disaster finales. Even OSRS deadman tournament 2021 was plagued by DDoS attacks.

Woke up today to a bunch of friends messaging me saying they saw me in a youtube vid. Damn. I knew I wouldn't win it, but was hella bummed that I didn't even get to play the finale for real.

I think RS3 doing leagues in the summer (several months away from the OSRS leagues) would be one of the best things for the game.

I would be down to play an alternate version of Gilenor on OSRS that had zombies everywhere and people had to band together to get places and get things done.

Make it a coop OSRS experience. Would be amazing. Might being back the glory days a bit.
