Some drivers look at the crossing but not the pavements leading to the crossing. If this situation happened when I were driving I should be mortified.

So the issue I have is a lot of pedestrians who walk on the street near my house and work is that they wear dark clothes that make it hard to see them from a distance this includes my 24 year old brother who we literally had to force to wear my hat with a light when he would go for night walks wearing dark clothes. Especially when I leave for work in the morning I have to be extra careful because we have people who walk their dogs at 5 to 6 am between 6 and 7 am when it is still dark you have the high school kids waiting for the bus standing near the road again in dark clothes. Some of them where lights on their clothes but not all. But if people know they are walking about in areas of traffic they should try and wear clothes to make them easier to notice from a far. Not all drivers take notice like they should. As drivers we need to be aware of anything. If you are near a park or school even outside of times where there would be kids there expect there to be kids just to be safe. When driving down the road near my house I always look 10 ft ahead. There was this one day after work I was headed home and this little kid maybe 3 or 4 popped out from behind a mail box I was able to safely move around him pull over and get the attention of his grandpa who was working on a car and didn't notice the kid wonder down the driveway.

thats why i always look at the pavement first when i notice a zebra crossing, gotta make sure the coast is really clear first😅😅

Zebra crossings are not even a priority for pedestrians anymore. So to all pedestrians out there, keep yourselves safe and wait for cars to stop on both sides before you cross.

Bro. When I was in London I almost got hit SO many times. Like people wouldn’t even slow down for me and mind you I was with a group of. Like. 20 people and they still came flying so I believe that she fully “didn’t see anyone”

You don’t even need to slow down at crosswalks, you need to have enough situational awareness to check both sides quickly/with your peripheral vision and make sure there are no humans. That person was literally halfway into the crossing. Total lack of perception.

I've nearly been hit at a crossing multiple times... Good job my parents taught me to always stop and look before crossing the road, even at zebra crossings.
