Royal Bans NEW Item, 243% Bottled Water Hike [CRUISE NEWS]

Cruise news today. Royal Caribbean has updated its prohibited items list to include multi-plug outlets, which travelers often use to charge multiple devices. Princess Cruises has sharply increased the price of bottled water, surprising passengers. As of September 17, 2024, those who pre-purchased water paid $7 per case, but the price jumped to $24 the next day. Royal Caribbean Group has partnered with the City and Borough of Sitka to provide internet terminals at key locations, including the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal, Sitka Bazaar, and Harrigan Centennial Hall. Cruise line stocks for CCL, RCL, NCLH, and VIK.

Royal Caribbean should provide the extra outlets and charging stations. This is a family cruise line very bad decision to disallow multiple plug charging.

I’m currently on Sapphire Princess. We have the premier package. Best thing we have ever had on a cruise, would probably opt for the regular package. Prices for bottled water are high on the ship. We believe it’s to move people more towards buying the packages.

This is not a good move by RCL. They need to consider CPAP users and those of us who do have to work onboard while cruising. Carnival and Princess have been the lowest for water packages so we had to expect the increase.

Mornin' Doug! I haven't read the details, but I'm wondering what CPAP users are supposed to do on RCCL? Are there always appropriate outlets close to the bed? We cruise NCL and extension cords (not plug strips) are allowed.
I like the bottled water, but the tap water is just fine and for that price, that's what I'm drinking!

Regarding extension outlets etc -the problem is people buying cheap chinese crap where the "QC" is a joke! You don't want fire on a ship!

I have 4 Carnival cruises booked from now until April 2026 and I just ordered our bottled water and Distilled water (I have a CPAP machine) for all of those cruises.

Hoping Carnival does not ban non-surge plug adapters next 😞
