Great tip. Thanks a lot. I spent several hours trying to get this thing out. It only took me a minute to dislodge after I saw your video! Man I owe you!

Hey, thanks to your short video I repaired my blender which due to age had coupler rubber completely melted or disintegrated. It is important for me to keep repairing my appliances and not buying new one and throwing this away. Repair cost me around $6 and my time. New one around $200 Oh I almost forgot that I modify some tool to block the motor from spinning and I was able to unscrew the old coupler and not worrying for damage thread.

It was a bit hard, I had to pry with the screwdriver a bit forcefully but I was finally able to get it off, just as you demonstrated. Excellent video, thanks so much.

Thank you. This really helped me fix a loose screw in my Progress blender. Actually, without destroying the blade😮

Hi Steve thanks for the video. I didn’t quite understand how lifting up with a screwdriver is going to make the threads unscrew so this video was very confusing to me. I ended up just taking a screwdriver and impacting it with a hammer against the rubber blades. A couple of quick impacts in the clockwise direction loosened mine easily. Takes some really quick impact though. I went ahead and put some anti-seize on the threads as well so next time they’ll come off easier. You’ll damage the rubber blades but it doesn’t matter since you’re replacing it. Just remember it’s clockwise to loosen. No need to get the spanner wrench

Hey Steve, so happy to see your video. Called your place of business and could not be helped because I didn't have a manufacturer's number. I thought a magic bullet is a magic bullet and the part I need is the part you are installing. So the video was great, customer service, not so muc.

My blender is of another brand, but seeing how they are generally made, helped me to disassemble mine. I was stuck at this exact part, dammit.
Many thanks!

Just bumped into this video while searching for other tips on blender, the thread on the shaft is a left hand thread, what this means is that to loosen the drive you have to go in the direction of tightening it, it will be a bit difficult to loosen because as the blender is running the more the drive is tighten.

Ah, $4.50 beats $75. for repair plus shipping and handling any day. It took me 7 minutes to install the part. I watched the video twice. Thank you to the KA CSR for pointing me in the right direction.

I have a kitchen-aid 4KSB5WH4. The coupler is wearing down, I'm already missing two prongs that have been shaved off. The coupler part is # 9703274 or #9704230.

Removing the old coupler: if possible, try to remove it by sliding a thin wrench under the old coupler to hold the axle and removing by twisting clockwise (reversed thread)
