Sanchez pulled a blinder. Vox have lost nearly half their seats, his party (the governing party) managed to even gain 2 more seats as Spain returns to the main parties. But there'll likely be another election now cos Feijoo (PP leader) is right, the largest party can't be frozen out of power for long. Feijoo's gonna have to start making some very good friends in the Cortes, and fast.

Most of the focus has been on the centre-right bloc falling short of majority. But mathematically speaking, does this mean the centre-left bloc has a higher chance of forming government? What do we know about the eclectic small parties that may become kingmakers?

The defeat of Vox is great news. Also, in a parliamentary system it does not matter which party has the most seats, the only thing that matters is who can form a majority coalition. Both Sánchez and Feijóo should try to work with the smaller parties to do so, but considering the ideologies of those parties, I believe Sánchez is the more likely of the two to succeed.
