Setting The First Course Of Blocks

Setting the first course of blocks on the retaining wall. The first row is always the time consuming part of the wall with having to level each block. I go over how I lay the first course and show some of the progress. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks

Nicely done, sir! They make it look so easy on the home shows! You've definitely got a better eye for detail than me! Thanks for the video!

Very nice job ! Those block retaining walls look so nice but, they sure are labor intense. Thanks for taking us on the journey!

Nice work, my friend. We don't anything like those blocks over here in England; so I loved watching them go together. By the way, I never find your films boring-they are always good to watch, keep up the good work-I really look forward to seeing them. Hope you are better soon !

You have a lot more patience than me for this stuff. I stack some large rock wall from time to time, and the texture johnny block walls, but those are all set with the excavator. Nice job.

If you do this again set the line on the back of blocks, tamp the base inch below where you set them and use concrete mixed half dry to set your blocks, will make your work lot easier and accurate.Thumbs up for hard work.

Good job! Whenever I lay a wall on a aggregate base I use a thin layer of #10’s or concrete sand. It’s a approved method and it’s a bit easier hitting the blocks into level. But other than that it’s just lots of mallet work. Ice up those elbows and shoulders.

A well built retaining wall is the perfect definition of TEDIOUS. Keep after it though. The possum story was too funny.
