funny isnt it, when you have done something so long and are extremely good like this, it is so hard to show somebody in slow motion or even at times explain how and what you do, you just do it lol but this was an excellent video and explained great!

60 years on this planet I've worked in almost all the trades now trying brick laying I watched 20 video's your the first I've seen butter the ends the way I do (no point ) thanks for confirmation and improvement on my technique, I've learnt alot also by what you don't say- just watching .thanks great video's

I once had a mason tender he use to put marbels in my mud-but bricklayers are hard to find these days-but did me well when i retired from the bricklayers union in america-thanks for the video.

Little tip for you - you really should be using a wall starter on a job like this. I guess every day is a learning day, even for an experienced pro like you. Keep practicing, you’ll get there!

interesting way of doing the ends, i do a small amount of brick work and this looks to be a good way to get a consistent vertical gap.

Thats great perping that is.
You see so many bricklayers who have never mastered the art of perping up. They chuck down bricks super quick and think they are super trowels, but can't get a full perp!

This is a better method of buttering the brick for me as a novice but still not mastered it. Laying the beds pretty easy in comparison.

I'm a reasonably handy bloke. I can turn my hand to most simple jobs. But watching a skilled bricklayer makes me know there are some skills only time and practice give a person. Bricklaying is one (I was a hoddie many years ago) but so is videography. The bricklaying is definitely better!

All day I’ve been buttering the edges of blocks ready for my mate to lay. I had never handled a trowel before(well not properly).this way helps a lot. Roll that muck!

Hi budd, I came here looking how to lay down the mortar by moving the trowel side-to-side. You've nailed it for me, many thanks. Your mortar is lovely and fluid, mixing by hand I'm not getting quite that consistency, but then I think the 'building sand' I purchased is more toward sharp sand.

Anybody slating this video has no clue .this man is old school and old school will forever be supreme the technique and skill he uses the buttering of the brick is perfect size same as the bed, you will be laying bricks with flow and ease this way.pick and dip like Charlie collision and make a fking mess !!
