So the way I think of these ships is the spirit is like a straight up dropship. The phantom is like a dropship/gunship and the lich is a dropship/mobile command center.

The Spirits also have a 3 armed variant referred to as a “Scag” as seen in Halo Oblivion

UNSC also have 3 types of transports, Falcon, typically used by UNSC army or Spartan teams, can transport 5 passengers including the two door gunners and has one pilot; the falcon can be equipped with a 20mm Autocannon.

Pelican, which can carry 14 passengers, including the mission commander and pilot; the pelican can be armed with a 60mm autocannon, twin linked 40mm autocannon, or the marine corps 70mm heavy rotary cannon as the nosegun. 2 Anvil II ASM missile pods, 4 wing mounted hard points capable of carrying bombs, missiles, or other additional armaments. And 1 aft facing turret which can be of the following weapons: M247 machine gun, M460 AGL, or M68 Gauss cannon.

Condor, Capable of Mid range Slipspace travel, can carry 15-20 personnel, and can be outfitted for combat with 1 Ballista mini Mac cannon, and 5 twin linked pulse lasers, but it should be noted the addition of weapons replaces the slipspace drive for capacitors needed for running the weapon systems.
