I remember the very first time Alan showed up in a video here. I was fascinated by this guy and then I liked him more and more with every video. He truly is unique. He is the embodiment of the USA in the West! A modern day frontier man. Kudos to you for helping him realize his dream.

I worked at Pella Windows and Doors, and they build aluminum framed windows, but you're better off going with the fiberglass framed windows they make. The metal frames can warp and get hard to open/close after time from heat, but the thick Pultruded Fiberglass frames are not only temperature resistant, they are MUCH stronger and practically fireproof! We have literally held welding/cutting torches to them for long periods of time without any damage to them, and they are powdercoated in lots of different colors, (so they never have to be repainted or maintained) even with one color on the outside and a different color on the inside if you're wanting to match/contrast the colors of the outside and inside of the house! They do the dual sliding top and bottom windows, Casement, Awning, and even ones that have a "Flush Flange" extension on the outside edge of the frame so it covers up the sides of the opening you are putti g it in for more weather protection and so you don't have to add extra trim around it to frame it in, just slide it in, shim it level/squared up, and screw it in place, done.

I know people who have that condition that Alan has. I can appreciate your INTERVENTION HeavyD to help him out. Please HELP him understand what the help is supposed to do. Without that, potential resentment will be the result. We love you I wish I could go out and help.. Your fire last year was a similar event to a family member about 12 years ago. You were fortunate you were limited to your damage and loss. My family member lost everything except for the clothes him and his family were wearing. They also did not have insurance. :( I look forward to see the progress of the help you receive.

Man, that is one of the coolest things i have seen someone assemble to help out another friend. The work party is a genius idea, to get the audience together to meet some of their YT idols and show the work they can do. This is a awesome idea and project!

Sometimes I wonder if he isn't actually working a silver or gold mine beneath the fortress.
And the building he has off limits is his smelting room.

No way!! I know Alan! I was wildfire fighting as a 19 year old in 2009 and got assigned to structure protection on his property. Haha I have been telling stories for years of how scared I was driving up his private property road to let him know we were there for the fire. It was quite the fortress even then! The fire never came that way so we ended up spending the day just watching him work on all the crazy cool stuff he had up there.

Hi Dave, I was so happy to see that you and your team are going to help Alan with his life long project. Without help, I fear that he would likely need to stay fit and healthy for another 50 years in order to finish it.
I suspect that Alan has just been enjoying the journey of building his dream and less worried about when it will be finished. The sad reality is that no-one lives forever and it would be a shame to see his dream unfinished.

I know the thought of the strangers all over the compound makes Alan nervous. I pray peace for you Alan. BTW, I saw a residence in Jerusalem that backed up to the Mount of Olives. The top looked just like the fortress. Amazing.

Honestly, Alan has those blueprints in his head, the ability to persevere, and although he has his quirks, we all can learn a lot from his tenacity...and when you haven't prepared for day Dave is talking about..don't go crying to Alen!
