What is an industrial blind hemmer (blind hemming machine) and how to use it.

Today on my sewing vlog I'm reviewing my industrial blind hemmer (blind stitch or flat felling machine) Rittershausen Success BL06.

It's a single operation machine so it does what it says on the tin: blind hemming. But it does it very well and efficiently. It works equally well of jersey/knit fabric and woven fabric. It's super fast but not very complicated. In theory it is an industrial portable machine, but in practice it's really heavy and I have problems lifting it.
You need special needles for it and you might want to use special thread (but it's not necessary). The threading is easy and all the maintenance is just cleaning and oiling the machine (to be done frequently).

Watching again as I have to blind hem sleeves that are too long on a winter coat. I just noticed we have the same little lamp! Epic! Thanks so much for all you do for us.

Because of you, I just ordered the Reliable blind hemmer. I tried to get this one, but couldn’t from USA. I’m a new sewing, and wish to work on curtains and mainly hemming my pants ;)

I don’t need it, but I love the toys, so of course I want it...lol. Thanks for the demo and review.

I just love all of your industrial machines!😍 In my dream sewing room, I would have to have a blind hemmer-until then, I'll look for blind hemming thread and be glad that I'm old school and don't mind hand stitching.🤣

What an amazing machine Alex! Much faster than my baby lock blind hemming machine. Super happy for you!

I didn’t know you could get a machine like that! what a lovely little thing 🤩 I’m super lazy and I never blind hem anything! It’s standard machine hem all the way for me 🙈🤣 or at least unless I can be bothered to hand sew! (Which is very rare for me) x

I have a really old Colombia Union Blind stitch machine that runs at 3000 stitches per minute. Its huge and I'm not sure how to put it all back together after taking it apart to bring it home. Lol but between the manual I found online and this, it was helpful. I'm hopeful I will figure it all out.

Is there a bobbin for this machine? If so could you show how to wind the bobbin.

Very interesting Alex, the speed of the industrial machines is a little bit scary though!

Can you start at beginning of fabric and end at the end of the fabric? I notice some videos do the same thing.
